Flurane is brand containing 99.9% Isoflurane as active ingredient. It is liquid preparation intended for inhalation anesthesia administered by vaporizing. Flurane is categorized as a general inhalation anesthetic drug. Flurane (Isoflurane) is always administered in conjunction with air and/or pure oxygen. It is non-flammable, and vaporizes readily, but remains in liquid state at room temperature. Induction of and recovery from Flurane (Isoflurane) anesthesia are rapid. Flurane is a profound respiratory depressant; therefore, respiration must be monitored closely and supported when necessary.

Indications:

Flurane (Isoflurane) is indicated for induction and maintenance of general anesthesia.

Dosage Guidelines:

• Use calibrated vaporizer
• Induction: 1.5-3%
• Maintenance: 1-2.5% with nitrous oxide
• Additional 0.5-1% may be needed if given with oxygen alone

Availability:

Flurane is available in 100 ml amber-colored bottle. The product is dispensed on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner.

Storage:

Flurane (Isoflurane) should be stored at room temperature at or below 20˚C.
