Kelac Injection
Kelac (Ketorolac Tromethamine) 30 mg/ml Inj.:
“An Opioid Sparing Agent”
Kelac (Ketorolac tromethamine) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug most often given by injection. Ketorolac is used to relieve moderately severe pain, usually pain that occurs after an operation or other painful procedure. It belongs to the group of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Ketorolac is not a narcotic and is not habit-forming. It is 5 & 50 times more potent than diclofenac & naproxen respectively.
Indications:
Kelac (ketorolac tromethamine) is indicated for short-term management of moderate to severe acute pain. Over the past several years Ketorolac has been also used intra- articularly similar to cortisone injections for joint pain
Dosage Guidelines:
Adults <65 IV: 30 mg as single dose or 30 mg q6hr; not to exceed 120 mg/day.
Adults > 65: 30 mg as single dose or 15 mg q6hr; not exceed 60 mg/day.
Availability:
Kelac (ketorolac tromethamine) is available in Pack containing 5 ampoules in plastic tray.
Storage:
Kelac (ketorolac tromethamine) should be stored below 25 ˚C and protected from light.
