Secomep infusion is an injectable preparation contains Omeprazole sodium as active ingredient. It belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Secomep (Lyophilized Omeprazole Sodium) acts by blocking the product of gastric acid secretion in patients with gastro-intestinal disorders. Secomep (Lyophilized Omeprazole Sodium) is considered to be superior to other PPIs by virtue of its consistent clinical efficacy.
Indications:
Secomep is indicated in Peptic Ulcer Bleeding (PUB), NSAID Induced Gastrointestinal Damage, GERD, Zollinger Ellison Syndrome (ZES), and Prophylaxis of acid aspiration during general anesthesia and in Surgeries to reduce pH.
Dosage Guidelines:
The recommend dosage of Secomep (Lyophilized Omeprazole) is 40 mg IV once daily for up to 5 days in most conditions expect for ZES where 60 mg daily dose is required.
Availability:
Secomep is available in 40 mg vial of lyophilized powder for intravenous infusion.
Storage:
Secomep vials must be stored in a cool and dry place below 25˚C.
